Always trim candles before each burn, this will ensure a clean and even burn. The appropriate trim size would be 1/4 of an inch or 0.25 inches, for wooden wicks use wick trimmer and for wax use scissors for wax wick, whichever is more convenient. Just be sure not to cut too much of the wick or you can drown the wick in a melted pool of wax.
Make sure your candle is placed on a stable surface, keep away from open windows to prevent fire flare and make sure there are no loose materials (curtains), this can also start a fire so please be mindful of where you place your candles!
Keep the candle clean from any debris or soot that may’ve accumulated while burning. Any gunk or debris can cause the candle to overheat. Clean an unlit candle unlit with a pair of tweezers and a paper towel (dry).
Use a snuffer or lid to put out candle flame.
Once the candle wax has reached the bottom of the vessel with a remaining 0.5-inch wax left over, would be a good time to stop burning. The next step will tell you how you can continue to enjoy the vessel!
Once you’ve retired the candle you can reuse the vessel by cleaning the remaining wax paper towel, safely removing the wick holder and washing the vessel with soap and warm water. Be creative and find different ways to enjoy the candle vessel.
